This summer has felt like I was sent off to “build character” with Caveman, Zero, and the gang. It’s been hot, smoky and full of work. Though my summer has had much less blisters and manual labor. Oh, an yellow spotted lizards. None of those.
I do have to say that there was also a lot of “I can fix that” happening this summer. But I do think that in all of that fixing, there was some major growth. Stretching outside of your comfort zone really pushes you to adapt. Especially when you don’t have much of a choice, but to grow.
I think one of the important lessons I’ve learned through this season is to give extra “fix that” energy to the things that bring joy. It’s easy to get caught up in working too much, but when you end up with 96 hours of PTO with more coming before the end of the year, you have to take a little you time.
So take some time with me and make something yummy! We can get back to fixing all of our problems right after we have a good snack.
