I’ll bet when you think of Disney chefs, you think of Remy and Gusteau. I would say Linguini, but let’s be honest here, he’s definitely not the first choice for who I’d have cooking up a meal. The mantra though is – and say it with me- “Anyone can cook” so I really put it to the test.

The whole thing with the movie was that a simple dish was made for such a prominent food critic and he ended up being connected back to his youth. I think we all have a meal like that, maybe even a few meals. My family, and I am not exaggerating when I say this, found about 2-3 weeks’ worth of recipes that we liked and just kept looping those. They were easy for week nights and no one complained about the repetition ever. We became creatures of habit and didn’t really seek to change the patterns that we had fallen into. It wasn’t until we found Hello Fresh as a meal kit (not an Ad, I promise) that we started to branch out and try a bigger variety of recipes on a more regular basis. Before we knew it, we all sought out recipes to try outside of the meal preps and started to really push ourselves in what was possible from our kitchen.

My time spent in the kitchen started to inspire me and that’s how I came to start cooking all these meals. All the foods that had flickered across the screen when I was a kid were suddenly a possibility to interpret and create for myself. I had such a great time, that I decided to share it with my friends and eventually we found ourselves here! Maybe one of these recipes can become someone else’s “anyone can cook” moment.  If it is, be sure to let me know how you did!
