I LOVE the mixed appetizers that you can get from restaurants. Bringing a little of this movie to life, for it’s literal name sake rather than what I’d assume they order in the movie, was really fun. There’s a ton of variety you can have, but we opted for some “Beautiful Butterfly Wing” Pasta Chips, Lemon Pepper “Bird” Wings, and Cream Cheese “Walking Sticks”

Beautiful Butterfly Wing Pasta Chips

Ingredients

  • 2 cups farfalle (bowtie) pasta
  • 1-2 tablespoon extra- virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps

1

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and add the noodles. Cook according to package directions to al dente. Strain pasta and add to a mixing bowl.

2

Preheat air fryer to 380 F

3

Toss the cooked pasta with olive oil, seasoning, and parmesan cheese.

4

Add it to the preheated air fryer basket and cook for 10-14 minutes until golden brown and crispy. It will help to shake the basket about 6 minutes in.

5

You can garnish with extra parmesan or fresh parsley. Enjoy with or without sauce!

Lemon Pepper Air Fried “Bird” Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds of chicken wings
  • 2-3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps

1

Preheat air fryer to 400 F

2

In a small bowl add all spices and stir evenly mix.

3

If you have whole chicken wings, split at the joint and remove tips.

4

Pat chicken wings with paper towel to remove moisture and place in large bowl or gallon size ziploc bag.

5

Drizzle olive oil over chicken wings, then sprinkle seasoning mix. Toss the chicken to evenly coat. If using a bag, seal and shake to coat all chicken evenly.

6

Coat the inside of the air fryer with nonstick cooking spray or lightly brush with a little olive oil.

7

Add chicken wings in a single layer, not overlapping.

8

Cook for 10 minutes. Turn over wings and cook for an additional 8 to 12 minutes or until fully cooked an desired crispiness achieved. Repeat if necessary, depending upon the size of your air fryer.

9

Serve immediately with desired dressing/ favorite dipping sauce.

Baked Cream Cheese “Walking Sticks”

Ingredients

  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • About 15 egg roll wraps
  • 1-2 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped green onions
  • 2-3 tbsp sweet and sour sauce, for dipping

Steps

1

Allow cream cheese to soften on the counter for about 30 minutes. If you do happen to forget, you can soften in the microwave if you’re in a hurry.

2

Preheat your oven to 375 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil.

3

In a medium sized bowl, use a fork or spoon to mix the softened cream cheese with the garlic salt and green onions until well combined.

4

Prepare a small container of water for dipping your finders in. Pour about 2 tbsp of vegetable oil on a plate or shallow dish.

5

One at a time, lay your egg roll wraps out on a flat surface, and then line about 2 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture onto the bottom potion of the egg roll wrap. The cream cheese will spread a little, so you don’t need to make sure it goes corner to corner.

6

Next, dip your fingers in water and moisten the top edge of the wrap. Tightly roll the wrap around the cream cheese. Rub the moistened edge to seal it shut; add more water if needed.

7

Repeat this process until all filling is used.

8

After all of your egg roll wraps are tightly rolled, roll them around in the plate of oil until they are well coated.

9

Place them on your lined baking sheet and bake 12-15 minutes, flipping them over halfway through.
